FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Eligibility & Selection
How does the selection process work
We look for students who are open-minded, motivated, and well-rounded. Applicants submit a short form, followed by an interview to assess readiness, mindset, and alignment with the programme values.
Do I need previous experience to apply?
No prior experience is required. We only ask that participants bring curiosity, respect, and a willingness to learn and engage with new environments
Support & Partnership
What support will I receive during the programme?
Students are supported by the Vivaria Local Coordinators. We offer 24/7 assistance, structured check-ins, and on-site guidance wherever needed.
A WhatsApp group will be created for each cohort to ensure quick communication, share daily updates, coordinate logistics, and provide an easy way for students to reach the team at any time.
How do you choose communities and project partners?
We work with trusted local organisations, social enterprises, and community leaders who align with our values. Partners must demonstrate genuine community benefit, safe work environments, and meaningful learning opportunities for students.
Logistics & Health & Safety
Do I need a visa to join the programme?
Yes, participants must apply for a Tourist Visa and complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entering Thailand. After you are accepted into the programme, we will provide all the information you need, including required documents, step-by-step instructions, and guidance to help you complete both the visa application and the TDAC smoothly.
How do I arrange travel to and from Thailand?
Students are responsible for booking their own international flights. Once in Thailand, all in-country transport related to the programme, including airport pickup, local travel, and project site transport, is arranged and coordinated by the Vivaria team.
Do I need to get vaccinated?
There is no mandatory vaccination requirement. However, we recommend that participants are up to date on routine vaccinations, such as tetanus, measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), and hepatitis A/B, as advised by international health guidelines.
Vivaria will provide a list of suggested health considerations as part of your pre-departure guide, but all medical decisions should be made in consultation with a healthcare professional.
